Job summary
We are currently looking for a Postgraduate Education Manager to join our dynamic multi professional Medical Education Team, based at Hammersmith Hospital on a fixed term contract (maternity cover).
The successful candidate will work closely with the Director of Medical Education, the Medical Education Manager and Training Programme Directors to support the provision of medical education across the Trust.They will also take on a trust-wide portfolio and be responsible for specific projects as directed by their line manager. The post holder will also provide support to a Director of Medical Education for a specific Division in the trust, working closely with them in order to ensure the quality of training provided is of a high standard.
The post holder will be responsible for managing the Education Centre at Hammersmith Hospital overseeing any activities and events that take place, as well as managing a team of admin staff. The post holder will be supported by an approachable and engaging team of senior managers who will provide guidance and support as needed.
The Postgraduate Education Manager role provides a great opportunity to work closely with wide range of colleagues within the trust and external stakeholders, both clinical and administrative. The post allows for a range of skills to be utilised making it a varied and enjoyable role. The appointee will therefore need to have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, organisational and planning skills.
Main duties of the job
- To support the Medical Education Manager (MEM) and Directors of Medical Education (DME) in the provision of education across the Trust. The post-holder will be required to work across sites and will take on responsibility for a division for tasks delegated by the MEM/DME.
- The role will be responsible for managing the education centre on the site they are based and the activities that take place.
- They will also take on a trust-wide portfolio and will be responsible for specific projects as directed by the MEM. The role will involve the following:
- Facilitating local faculty group meetings
- Co-ordinating study leave applications, ensuring they are in line with policy and cover has been confirmed within the division
- Ensuring the data management system, is monitored and maintained for all resident doctors in the division
- Measuring KPIs e.g. resident doctor teaching attendance and providing data for the Head of Operational Management
- Analysing data and providing reports as requested
- Compiling reports and papers for divisional and directorate meetings
- Co-ordinating evidence for action plans in the division
