Job summary

We currently have vacancies for a Band 5 Staff Nurse to work in our Acute Medical Assessment Unit at Charing Cross Hospital. We are seeking enthusiastic, experienced and motivated individuals who will work well within our established nursing team.

The post holder will be expected to work with staff to maintain standards in line with Trust and NMC guidelines. You will, in all aspects, be supported by the Senior Sister / Charge Nurse, Ward Manager and Lead Nurse in the department.

Main duties of the job

o Patient Assessment and Monitoring, Conduct timely and comprehensive assessments of patients presenting with acute medical conditions.o Regularly monitor and document vital signs, recognizing deviations and escalating concerns as necessary.o Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patients' clinical needs and best practices.o Provide holistic care, including physical, emotional, and psychological support to patients and their families.

o Assist in the coordination of patient admissions, transfers, and discharges to ensure efficient patient flow.o Maintain a safe and effective environment by identifying and addressing issues related to staffing, equipment, or supplies.

o Support to New Staff and Students by acting as a mentor for nursing students, newly qualified nurses, and healthcare assistants, providing hands-on guidance and advice.

o To keep up to date with current developments in nursing and ensure evidence based practice
