Job summary
Provide a comprehensive and quality administration service to the designated department of ophthalmology. The main focus of the role is to provide clinic and patient management for allocated clinics as appropriate. The role should provide support to management and multidisciplinary teams, including Consultants in managing this cohort of patients and clinics.
Effective supervision and support of all activities within the outpatient offices. This includes the day-to-day supervision of the failsafe team to ensure a comprehensive and efficient Trust wide booking service for patients referred to ophthalmology.
Main duties of the job
- To maintain effective communication channels with all members of the multi-disciplinary team.
- To demonstrate a high standard of customer care by being courteous and helpful at all times to patients, visitors and staff.
- To be responsible for liaising with patients, clerical staff, GP's and clinicians to respond to any day-to-day queries regarding hospital outpatient appointments escalating issues as necessary to managers.
