Main duties of the job
- To work as a prime care provider in all aspects of midwifery care. To work flexibly within the team to provide 24 hour cover on the postnatal ward. This will require rotation between day/night duty across the week.
- The post holder is expected to be an expert clinical midwife who will give advice and guidance on the midwifery care of women and pregnant people, babies and their families
- To provide midwifery care for in-patients during the postnatal period
- To support the day to day running of the Edith Dare Ward including multidisciplinary ward rounds
- Be a mentor to qualified midwives, students and support staff
- To work collaboratively with the Ward managers and Matrons to provide and develop high quality, safe and effective service
- To work collaboratively with patients and user representatives to develop the service in response to feedback received including local and national initiatives
