Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Staff Nurse to join the dynamic and supportive team on 8 North Ward--a 22-bedded unit specialising in Endocrinology and General Medicine.
We are seeking a motivated and experienced nurse with a strong background in acute medical care. The successful candidate will be confident in taking charge of the ward, leading shifts, and supporting the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care.
Main duties of the job
- Provide clinical leadership and act as a role model for junior staff and students.
- Take responsibility for the coordination of care and safe discharge planning.
- Deputise for the Ward Manager in their absence.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and compassionate care.
- Collaborate effectively with the wider MDT to manage complex medical patients.
- Support staff development through mentorship and supervision.
- Plan organise and deploy staff according to ability and workload in order to meet patient needs.
- Assess the needs of patients, relatives and carers and provide them with information as requested.
