Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Specialist Surgery Directorate. The role is an important part of the leadership team of Urology, a fast-paced and dynamic service.
The purpose of the role is to manage the people, processes and performance of Imperial Urology's cancer pathways, including:
- Addressing issues related to the outpatient diagnostic pathways to drive the service towards achieving and maintaining the Faster Diagnosis Standard.
- Complete regular demand and capacity reviews for each outpatient element of Urology's cancer pathways, monitor capacity for each stage of the pathway and implement corrective actions in response to fluctuations in demand.
The post holder will support the achievement and maintenance of cancer waiting times targets for Urology and the maintenance of DM01 compliance for flexible cystoscopy procedures.
This post is ideal for a compassionate leader who will be able to work independently and collaboratively in order to drive positive results.
Main duties of the job
- The post holder will support the achievement and maintenance of cancer waiting times targets for Urology. The service also faces a significant challenge with managing the demand for flexible cystoscopy. This impacts on DM01, RTT and CWT performance as it is a key diagnostic throughout urology. The primary cohort of patients who require flexible cystoscopy are those with a suspected bladder cancer (for diagnosis) or confirmed bladder cancer (for regular surveillance checks). This post holder will support with the recovery of this by ensuring that capacity is utilised effectively.
- The post holder will be expected to organize and prioritize their own workload and to assist colleagues to ensure the continuity of service at all times.
