Job summary
We are recruiting a full time Band 6 Charge Nurse. We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and skilled nurse with clinical experience or a particular interest in the care of Outpatients Service Users. This is a substantive full-time Band 6 post - 37.5 hours/week with 7.5 hours per shifts. You will have excellent clinical knowledge and skills and enjoy Multidisciplinary team working.
You will have the opportunity to:

You need to be well organized, motivated and committed to further developing and delivering high quality holistic multidisciplinary care; and enjoy supporting the various specialties in the Outpatients setting including Dermatology, ENT, Ophthalmology, Cardiology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Vascular, Gastroenterology, Diabetes and Endocrinology Clinics .
Your responsibilities will include deputising the Senior Charge Nurse, with 3 other Band 6 Nurses in the department. You will be covering and coordinating, taking turns with your colleagues in a rotational basis.

Main duties of the job
- To foster a culture of incident reporting and responding to incidents, reflection, equal opportunity, openness, mutual respect between the professions and professional development within the ward or department
- To support nursing audit
- To ensure the timely submission of the relevant performance data for outpatients
- Secure and assure the highest standards of clinical care by providing visible leadership to the professional and direct care staff within the outpatient service
- Provide a visible, accessible and authoritative presence in the clinical setting to provide assistance, advice and support patients and their families
- Work collaboratively with clinicians and management teams to reduce patient cancellations and DNA's
