Job summary
There is an exciting opportunity to join the dynamic Oncology Team at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, in a substantive role covering gynae-oncology in a growing service in Northwest London. ICHT is the regional cancer centre for an inner North West London population of approximately 2 million and is the largest recruiting centre to clinical trials in this sector.
This post is an additional post to cater for our growing patient population and fits into a well-established oncology team at Hammersmith Hospital. A key focus will be to manage the increasing demand for gynae-oncology from the supra-regional network. . We have a new large outpatient service opening in June 2024 at Hammersmith where the successful applicant will be based. The gynae-oncology service is supported by a team of 4 medical oncologists (2 academic,2 NHS) and 2 clinical oncologists.
The Trust offers specialist care for almost all cancers (excluding paediatrics and sarcoma) and is a lead site for the National Gestational Trophoblastic Disease service (only one of 2 centres in England). It is also the North West London regional Centre (ICS) for malignant spinal cord compression.
Main duties of the job
This 10PA post will:
Work collaboratively with the Gyane oncology and surgery teams to provide care to patients of Northwest London and wider networked units
support the delivery and management of the medical and clinical oncology services offered to all gynae oncology patients
Work collaboratively, offering cross cover, recruitment to and assessment of trials, active metastatic disease & complex case discussion
Offer support and training to all non-consultant grade doctors within the unit.
To work collaboratively with all members of the gynae MDT's to continue to provide outstanding clinical care and experience.
