Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Specialist Surgery directorate for a Directorate Performance and Service Manager, based predominantly at Charing Cross Hospital.
The role will provide performance management support to the directorate operational management team in relation to RTT, Cancer and Diagnostic Targets. The role will also provide a level of service management to a number of small services within the directorate.
These role is crucial to the operational running of the Directorate and as such the successful candidate will need to have some experience as an NHS manager and/or have proven experience of managing patient pathways to meet key access targets. A solid understanding of the NHS is essential, as is a good standard of analytical skills in relation to waiting time data.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who can balance conflicting priorities and undertake project work across the Directorate. Having experience in managing administration staff, budgets and a range of operational performance targets will be beneficial.
Main duties of the job
- The postholder will provide a comprehensive analytical and data quality audit support to the Directorate management team. The post holder will ensure that timely, relevant and accurate information is available to the team's senior management and that centralised returns and internal reports (e.g. divisional scorecards, Standard Operating Model returns) are collated and submitted on time.
- The postholder will also be responsible for the operational management of a number of a small services within the Directorate, and support the wider work of the Business Management and Senior Management team.
- The directorate team set high standards for their staff and the post holder will need to be able to respond effectively to the pressure that goes with leading such a large organisation. This role will mainly entail unsupervised working and use of initiative. The post holder will be fully conversant with patient activity and waiting lists,- including its relevance and inter relationships.
