Job summary
We have two exciting opportunities for experienced operational managers to join either the Renal directorate or the Charing Cross Acute Medicine & Specialist Medicine directorate at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
The Deputy General Manager will provide senior leadership across the all services in the directorate, and will be a key member of the directorate management team, working operationally and strategically with the clinical director, lead nurses and general manager to ensure the delivery of key performance indicators and the financial plan for the directorate. The role may also include operational accountability for a discrete section of the directorate and line management support to the business managers.
We are looking for candidiates who can demonstrate excellent interpersonal and leadership skills across a broad service portfolio, which inspire, motivate and influence colleagues at all levels. You will champion a patient-centred approach, ensuring services are well positioned to place patient choice, safety, and staff wellbeing at the fore front of developments. You will work within supportive directorates and divisional leadership teams as a key member.
The roles are high profile roles and include a responsibility for deputising for the general manager. Both roles are ideal for an existing deputy general manager looking to broaden their NHS experience, or an highly experienced business manager aiming to make the next step in their career progression.
Main duties of the job
- Be accountable to the General Manager for the operational performance of the directorates services
- Lead the directorate's business management team.
- Be accountable for delivery of financial targets for the directorate's services
- Deputise for the General Manager
