Maternity Recovery Nurse

Job summary

The Maternity Recovery Nurse will play a critical role in providing high-quality care to patients in the maternity recovery area. This includes assessing care needs, developing and implementing care programmes, and ensuring a safe and efficient recovery environment. The role requires excellent clinical judgement and a compassionate approach to patient care, as well as collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide care to patients in the maternity recovery area
  • Assesses care needs and develops implements and evaluates programmes of care
  • Responsible for maintaining asepsis postoperatively
  • Ensures safety of the recovery environment including stock levels and storage ofequipment
  • Provides support to students/learners within the unit
  • Works collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team members in maintainingpolicies and standards of patient care related to pre and postoperativemanagement
