Job summary

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading projects in accordance with

Trust and best practice processes. This includes development of project plans and

monitoring and reporting progress against milestones including the determination of RAG

status based on analysis of a range of information, assessing options to unblock issues

and escalating complex issues as appropriate to the Senior Leadership Team. You will also participate in developing, monitoring and reviewing the Trust policies and

standards relating to planning, design, construction, procurement methods and

performance. You will also manage the transfer of services into new or refurbished

hospital buildings ensuring that all medical, paramedical, anxilliary and FM contractors

integrate smoothly. You will also assist in the procurement of service instracture surveys

of defined areas and assess existing engineering and structural drawings.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered in time and on budget.

You will engage with external consultants for professional guidance and the design of

redevelopment schemes ensuring that compliance with Trust policies are carried out.

You will provide expert professional advice to clinical and managerial

colleagues;provide positive participation and direction to working groups in order to

deliver the redevelopment works.

Ensure regular liasion with statutory authorities, borough councils, contractors and

other professional bodies concerned with the schemes being undertaken as part of

the revelopment works.

Lead and work with specific client groups in the initiation and implementation of

redevelopment works.

Ensure appropriate user involvement through engagement with patients, their families

and staff to understand their needs and the needs of the service, in order to develop

briefing documents for Trust facilities.

Participate in the preparation of business cases and relevant project documentation.

Organise and produce regular progress meeting minutes and reports with project

teams including the production of initial schedme programme report to inform key

stakeholders of progress etc.

Ensure the production of Project plans capturing key deliverables and milestones

leading to the delivery of projects.

Essential

  • Educated to a bachelor's level in engineering, management or aligned discipline or at least 2/3 years equivalent experience relevant to healthcare project management.
  • GCSE grade A-C
  • Good understanding using M S Projects
  • Good understanding using excel and advanced spreadsheets

Desirable

  • Foundation level project management qualification. E.G MSP
  • Membership of a professional institution such as RICS OR CIBSE.

Skills

Essential

  • High level IT literacy skills, demonstrable spreadsheet skills for multiple project financial reporting
  • Negotiation and presentation skills
  • Ability to work with complexity and ambiguity, e.g., around professional and managerial imperatives
  • Financial awareness and reporting
  • Computer Literate Highly proficient use of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook
  • Project Management Skills
