Job summary

An exciting opportunity has risen for an experienced midwife to Join our Caseload team on a fixed term contract for one year as a band 7 midwife.

If you have a passion and expertise to provide continuity of care to our vulnerable service users in our catchment area as well supporting homebirth then we would like to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide high quality, evidence-based care and advice to women throughout the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal periods in a variety of settings such as the community, hospital and woman's home.
  • Provide continuity of care and carer in combination with emotional and psychological support during the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal periods and ensure that the needs of the woman are placed at the centre of care delivery. Supporting birth in all areas
  • Work alongside multi professional teams providing the most appropriate care, whilst breaking down barriers that may inhibit women with socially complex lives accessing high quality maternity care.
  • You will manage your caseload of women and be based in a children's centre and cover a set geographical area. Working within a team of midwives providing 24 hour provision of care. This will include weekend working and night on call commitment.
  • Possess sound knowledge of safeguarding issues, domestic abuse, female genital mutilation and mental health illness in order to advocate for women and their families.
  • Ensure safe and effective clinical practice ensuring knowledge, skills and competencies are current and act as a clinical expert to disseminate specialist skills and knowledge to others.
  • Develop and support band 6 midwives allocated to your team
