Job summary

You will be required to ensure that invoices are raised in a timely manner, have the ability to pay attention to detail and collate information from various sources in order to ensure that all private income is captured. You will have an integral role with the administration team and you will be expected to provide a comprehensive and effective administration service to support the smooth running of the business office.

You will need the ability to be able to communicate effectively with patients both in person and over the telephone as well as Consultants, their secretaries, colleagues and other departments within Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust as well as outside agencies. This post requires someone that has excellent customer care, interpersonal skills and a professional and courteous telephone manner. You will require excellent time management skills, able to prioritise and manage your workload effectively, and remain calm whilst working under pressure. You may also be required to have difficult conversations around finance issues and therefore experience of working in a healthcare setting or similar environment would be an advantage.

Main duties of the job

o To prepare invoices for private patients ensuring that Trust standing financialinstructions are adhered to and that billing is carried out appropriately.o To deal with any queries relating to private patient billingo To participate in the smooth running of the Business Office, providing aprofessional customer focused service.
