We are seeking for a highly motivated and dedicated Band 5 NMC Registered Nurse to join our dynamic Gynaecology Outpatients team at St. Mary's Hospital. Main duties of the job
- Assist in the coordination of clinics, ensuring efficient patient flow and timely delivery of care.
- Assisting the consultants and CNSs colposcopists during colposcopy examinations and treatments, and supporting patients through their procedures.
- Competent and confident in venepuncture.
- Supporting patients through emotionally challenging situations such as recurrent miscarriages, terminations of pregnancy, rapid access clinics and for those with suspected cancer and complex long-term conditions such as endometriosis, adenomyosis and fibroids.
- Provide patient education and support, explaining procedures, treatments, and post-care instructions.
- Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team, including consultants, nurses, and administrative staff, to ensure seamless patient care.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed through management of a nurse-led injection clinic while adhering to clinical guidelines and best practices.
- Participate in the development, audit and ongoing quality improvement of outpatient services.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.Contribute to the training and development of junior staff and students, fostering a culture of continuous learning within the team.
