Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Embryologist to join the IVF team at the Wolfson Fertility Centre (Imperial College Healthcare Trust) to work in our state of the art lab using the latest equipment and offering comprehensive assisted conception services.
The successful candidate will join one of the most prestigious units in the UK. The Wolfson Fertility Centre at Imperial College Healthcare Trust undertakes more than 800 IVF/ICSI cycles a year, as well PGT, embryo cryopreservation, gamete donation and surrogacy. The Unit has several active research programmes aligned with Imperial College London and is an accredited training centre for Scientists.
You should have at least 3 years' experience in clinical embryology. The successful candidate will be personable, have excellent communication skills, good verbal and written English language skills and be a strong team-player, enabling them to deal with patients directly and liaise with colleagues. Ideally the candidate should be state registered with the HCPC however, applications from final year STP students or those eligible for state registration will be considered.
The position will involve participation in the weekend/out of hours roster and would suit someone with excellent team playing skills and attention to detail.
Main duties of the job
o Deliver a range of complex scientific work demanding skilled performance that may be with or without scientific or technical support.o Deliver with the Head of Embryology, Head of Reproductive Medicine and General Manager a routine service to nationally accepted standards.o Achieve competence in the interpretation of test results and the provision of clinical advice, under supervision. They are not supervised but may refer complex cases to a superior.o Participate in audit, research and development in the agreed specialist area.o Participate in local and national professional training and be expected to obtain Part 1 FRCPath (Associate) while in post.
