Job summary
We are recruiting for a Nurse to work in our Pam Sassoa Renal Planned Investigation Unit, this is predominantly a nurse led service with Medical support from the Nephrology and Surgical teams.
As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for supporting your manager in ensuring that our patient's needs are met through the delivery of high quality care. As a Nurse led unit you will work alongside our senior nursing team to assess, plan and implement individualised patient care.
Main duties of the job
- To provide high quality, effective, individualised care to all patients by assessing care needs and developing, implementing and evaluating them without supervision.
- To assist the ward manager in leading the nursing team and deputise in their absence.
- Monitor standards of nursing care and take appropriate action to maintain and improve them.
- To respond to patients, relatives and carers concerns as they arise and take remedial action as required.
- Pam Sassoa Renal Planned Investigation Unit is predominantly a nurse led service with Medical support from the Nephrology and Surgical teams.
- Investigations/procedures carried out include but are not exclusive to: Renal biopsy; renal angiograms; dialysis access and minor day case surgery; Blood transfusions, Monoclonal antibody infusion; ongoing intravenous antimicrobial therapy and intravenous iron therapy and Pentamidine inhalation.
- You will be expected to work alongside the Senior Sister and collaborate with a team of nurses to deliver excellent nursing care for our patients. Cannulation and venepuncture skills are preferable but not essential.
