As an Employee Relations Specialist you will work collaboratively to review our policy, practice and systems to ensure the way we manage absence is in line with best practice standards and our values.
As an organisation the health and wellbeing of our people is our top priority and so you will focus on improving attendance by understanding and addressing drivers of sickness absence; working with managers and other People & OD colleagues. You will also be responsible for overseeing employee relations case work for your area and supervising a senior HR Advisor. You will hold and advise on a caseload of complex cases, in particular those involving long term sickness absence and supporting disabled colleagues.

Main duties of the job
- Using the latest research, best practice and stakeholder engagement, work as part of a divisional People & OD (POD) team, to develop and implement compassionate and people centred strategies to reduce sickness absence.
- Manage employee relations case work in accordance with the Trust's values, policies and procedures and our key performance indicators.
- Advise and coach managers, managing a caseload of complex cases.
