Job summary

We can offer an exceptional opportunity for 2 experienced radiographers to join our dynamic team providing a 24/7 Primary PCI service and carrying out all invasive cardiac catheter lab procedures. (Experience in cardiac radiography is not essential)

We are at the cutting edge of research and our service has an international reputation where we participate in live transmissions via satellite at major conferences.

We have 6 cardiac catheter labs fitted with state-of-the-art facilities including some of the latest electrophysiological equipment.

You will rapidly expand your skill set with a varied and interesting workload taking place across our interventional, electrophysiological and pacing labs.

Participation in the on-call and out of hours work is required (unsocial hours attract enhanced payment).

Main duties of the job

  • To be willing to gain experience in all aspects of cardiac investigations within the cardiac catheter lab environment.
  • To contribute to the provision of an efficient and effective radiographic service to all patients and staff at Hammersmith Hospital Cardiac catheter laboratories.
  • Actively participating in the out of hour's on-call service after a suitable period of training.
  • To support/assist in organising the daily scheduling of workflow through the 6 Cardiac Catheter Labs at Hammersmith Hospital. This includes elective and acute angioplasty, diagnostic angiography, pacing/ICD implants and EP/ablation studies, and ASD/PFO/LAA closures. We also have TAVI and Mitraclip programmes.
  • To work alongside cardiologist's, cardiac physiologists and nurses as part of a multi-disciplinary team approach.
  • Post holders will be expected to build their skills and experience under the auspices of the superintendent and senior radiographers
