Our haematology out-patient unit provides a wide range of services including clinic consultations, a day unit and ambulatory service ensuring high quality care for all patients receiving anti-cancer treatment, as well as those patients with non-malignant conditions.

To complement the existing team on the Hammersmith Hospital site we are seeking a motivated and committed individual who has excellent communication skills and strong teamwork ethic to work in our phlebotomy team serving the haematology clinic.

Working alongside the Oncology Clinic, this post offers you the opportunity to further develop your experience in caring and assisting patients and their families undergoing review and treatment. The role will consist of working a total of 37.5 hours per week, on Monday to Friday 7.5 hours per day.

You will need a qualification in venepuncture, which is essential. Cannulation skills are desirable but not essential, with at least 1 years' experience in venepuncture preferable.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide a safe and efficient phlebotomy service ensuring that blood samples are ordered, collected and dispatched in a timely manner in accordance with Trust policy.
  • To work towards improving the patient experience
  • Working days will be Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours per day, 08:30 to 16:30.
