Job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated Trainee Sonographer to join our growing friendly team based in heart of London, working between both Queen Charlotte's and Chelsea Hospital and St Mary's Hospital.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with an interest in pursuing a career in ultrasound to receive training. Preferably you will be a HCPC / NMC registered health care professional with a back ground in Imaging (Radiography) or Midwifery. Practical training will be provided by the Obstetric Ultrasound Department and will cover Gynaecological and Obstetric modules.
You will be required to register with an academic centre to undertake a Post Graduate Certificate course in Clinical ultrasound covering gynaecological and obstetric modules.
Training will take place across two hospital sites Queen Charlotte and Chelsea and St. Mary's Hospital.
To join our incredible team we will require you to ideally have had some exposure within Maternity and particularly in obstetrics and gynaecology ultrasound examinations.
You will be dealing with a varied workload including high and low risk pregnancies and also be trained in gynaecological ultrasounds. Due to the nature of this role you will be expected to have a compassionate approach towards our patients at some of the most vulnerable times of their lives.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be a qualified sonographer who will be expected to work autonomously within the specialist field of obstetrics and gynaecology imaging.
To provide an efficient and professional ultrasound service, maintaining a high standard of patient care.
Assess and report on own specialist workload.
Participate in service activity within specialised areas of working.
To provide supervision and training of junior ultrasound staff, students and doctors rotating through the ultrasound unit.
To develop and improve professional expertise via continuous professional development
To deputise for Superintendent Sonographer when required.
