Job summary
The Gynaecology, Sexual Health, Retroviral and Reproductive Medicine Directorate have an exciting opportunity for an exceptional candidate to join our Triumvirate leadership team as Deputy Divisional Director of nursing. You will provide overall leadership and management for our nursing workforce and will work closely with the General Manager and Clinical Director to lead the strategy and development of the Directorate. You will be enthusiastic and knowledgeable about Women's Health and have a proven ability of leading senior nursing teams You will support the Divisional Director of Nursing with the implementation of the corporate nursing agenda; continually empowering teams with learning and improvement.
Main duties of the job
- The role will provide clinical and managerial leadership for all nursing staff within Gynaecology and Reproductive Medicine. They will contribute to and ensure delivery of strategic and operational objectives set by the Trust and Divisional Board. In addition they will act as a point of contact for advice and expertise on all matters relating to professional nursing issues, including setting the professional direction for the nursing staff working in the Accountable Business Unit setting.
- The post holder is expected to establish excellent working relationships with the local users, senior managers and external stakeholders. Together with the General Managers and Clinical Directors for the Accountable Business Unit and the Divisional Senior Management Team, the Head of Nursing is responsible for successfully developing patient services and new quality improvements within the areas.
- The post holder will contribute to divisional initiatives and plans, particularly with respect to changes in patient care delivery and clinical quality. They will provide clinical leadership which inspires, motivates and empowers nurses within the ABU. In conjunction with the DDN/M the post holder will ensure that there is optimal deployment of nursing and midwifery staff to ensure that high quality patient care is delivered and monitored
