Job summary

The role of EPR Transformation Lead aims to provide dynamic leadership in delivering transformation through innovation and developments of the electronic patient record (EPR), building on the long term investment in the Digital Strategy. The success of this work is crucial to the overarching mission to improve healthcare delivery, improve patient and staff experience and reduce variation in care across Imperial Healthcare and Chelsea and Westminster Healthcare Trusts.

The post holder will join an existing transformation team who strive with stakeholders to design the best ways of working on the joint electronic patient record providing opportunities for joined up care for patients across the NW London Acute Provider Collaborative (APC).

We are seeking a dynamic individual who can support the workflow improvements between the administrative, clinical and operational teams. Experience in how NHS services run, a belief in the importance of robust patient administration systems underpinning efficient patient care and a good understanding of how Cerner PAS works will be beneficial in delivering an enhanced experience.

This role is vital in accelerating the improvements across the APC to meet the vision set out in the NW London Integrated Care Digital Strategy.

Main duties of the job

The role aims to provide dynamic leadership in delivering transformation through innovation and developments of the electronic patient record (EPR) building on the long term investment in the digital strategy. The success of this work is crucial to the overarching mission to improve healthcare delivery, improve patient and staff experience and reduce unwarranted variation in care across Imperial Healthcare and Chelsea and Westminster Healthcare Trusts.

Imperial, together with Chelsea & Westminster, were awarded Global Digital Excellence funding based on the integrated use of Cerner and other clinical systems through a shared Cerner domain over both Trusts. Since then the Cerner domain has been implemented at London North West and Hillingdon Trusts providing opportunities for joined up care for patients across the NW London Acute Provider Collaborative (APC).

This role is vital in accelerating the improvements across the APC to meet the vision set out in the NW London Integrated Care Digital Strategy.

  • Educated to First Degree Level and have extensive NHS experience with evidence of continued development e.g. relevant postgraduate or professional education or qualifications e.g. Prince 2 Practitioner, Managing Successful Programmes, health IT experience

  • Knowledge and experience of using an electronic patient record system
  • Experience of working within a Programme Management environment
  • Experience in successfully challenging established working practices and opinions
  • Evidence of driving and supporting organisational change
  • Leading and managing a multidisciplinary team including objective setting and performance management
  • Proven experience of undertaking system implementations in an NHS environment
