Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of Head of Audiology Services (Consultant Clinical Scientist) across the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (Northwest London). The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of high quality adult and paediatric audiology services.
They will provide leadership, efficient management, delivery and development of the Audiology Service which comprises of Adult and Paediatric Rehabilitation (including middle ear implants) Diagnostic Audio-Vestibular, Tinnitus, Hearing Therapy and NHSP. You will have a postgraduate (or equivalent) qualification in Audiology and are registered with the HPCP or RCCP. Experience in a leading a team is essential.
The Head of Audiology Services will work with a motivated team who are committed to moving the service forward. There is an ethos of quality, service development and improvement as evidenced in our IQIPS accreditation.
As well as providing clinical expertise in Audiology, the successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for the effective delivery of operational services, ensuring sufficient operational capacity and staff resources are available to meet the service demands. They will need to understand the performance of the service in terms of activity and finance and have responsibility for meeting key performance indicators reporting to the General Manager of Specialist Surgery and being part of the directorate leadership team.
Main duties of the job
- Overall Line Management of all staff
- Operational management including: Service development, complaints; workforce planning, activity, capacity and demand
- Pathway development including audit and protocols
- Quality management: IQIPS, audit
- Working closely with senior management within the Trust
- The effective and efficient use of resources and the management of workload
- Overall responsibility for Teaching and training of staff & students
- Complete appraisals and personal development plans for all direct reports and ensure they are delivered for the all teams in your control
- Clinical work in your specialist area of audiology of either adult or paediatric audiology services
