Junior Clinical Fellow in Urology (Trust Doctor LAS)
Imperial College Health NHS Trust has an exciting opportunity for applicants to apply for a Junior Clinical Fellow post in Urology
The post holder will be part of the Imperial Urology team based at Charing Cross Hospital. The primary focus of this role will be attending ward rounds, providing inpatient care and reviewing patients in the Emergency Department. The urology service delivers acute care for urological emergencies and elective urological care through the various subspecialties. The inpatient service led by a Consultant of the Week who is supported by a Urology SpR and a number of Junior Doctors.
The post is for a fixed term period of 12 months.
Working as part of a team at the forefront of surgical innovation, the post-holder will also have access to training opportunities. The post holders will have opportunities to be involved in Quality Improvement projects.

Main duties of the job
The Clinical Fellow will be involved in the day-to-day running of the Urology inpatient service at Charing Cross Hospital. This will include attending ward rounds and managing emergency cases. The post-holder will be expected to take an active role in managing patient pathways.
During their time in the urology department, the Fellow can expect to improve their clinical skills in general Urology and other subspecialist areas. The post holders will have opportunities to be involved in Quality Improvement projects.
During a twelve month period the appointee can expect to see all common urological problems and pathologies, and in addition will see a variety of more unusual and general urology conditions.
The post holder will provide high quality care to patients in urological surgery. They are expected to:
- Be medically qualified and maintain GMC registration.
- Develop and maintain the competencies required to carry out the duties required of the post.
- Ensure prompt attendance at agreed direct clinical care activities.
- Involve patients in decisions about their care and respond to their views.
