Job summary
Acute medicine a fast paced, vibrant and dynamic 17bedded ward inclusive of Cardiac Monitored bays -Medical Side Rooms, which proudly places the care needs of its patients first. we provide care to and support patients with acute and chronic conditions as well as acutely unwell medical patients, ranging from Cardiac Arrhythmias, Respiratory Conditions (acute and Chronic) and their care management. With a strong collaborative working ethic between its Multi-Disciplinary Team, Ward works diligently to provide efficient, safe and effective care from admission to discharge of each patient and works closely with external healthcare professionals within our patient's communities to promote continuity of care.
This specialism is developing at a rapid pace and new treatments are being developed. There will be opportunities to work closely with the specialist Hepatology team and the research liver day unit. There will also be an opportunity to study on the staff education-development pathway, and partake in quality improvement projects to encourage innovative practice.

Main duties of the job
- Maintain a professional behaviour at all times and promote a positive image of Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust at all times, in line with World Class Care values.
- To be responsible for the unsupervised assessment of patient care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of plans of care, ensuring high standards of evidence based care.
- To undertake all nursing procedures in accordance with Trust policies and ensure that these procedures and policies are understood and adhered to by all staff, within own management responsibility.
- To contribute to the development of evidence based guidelines/policies relating to speciality.
- To ensure accurate and comprehensive nursing records are maintained using appropriate written and electronic documentation.
