An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Professional Midwifery Advocate (PMA). Maternity is at the heart of positive change and improvement in the service both for the benefit of service users as well as staff.
The successful candidate will join a team of Senior leaders. He/ She will ensure midwives meet with a PMA a minimum of once per year. Develop an effective communication strategy that ensures all PMAs are kept informed of current issues so that the A-EQUIP model is implemented within the service.You will be supported to contribute to improvement and Maternity transformation in the various areas including ongoing maternity transformation programmes at imperial as well as collaborative working across the NWL sector for your areas of responsibility
Main duties of the job
- The Professional Midwifery Advocate role is to support the provision of the highest quality patient care through leading the implementation and embedding of the AEQUIP model (Advocating for education and Quality Improvement)
- This role has been developed to replace the role of the supervisor of midwives that was deselected in April 2017 due to legislative change. A-EQUIP provides a framework for continuous improvement process that builds upon personal and professional resilience, enhances quality of care for women and supports preparedness for midwives in appraisal and professional revalidation
- The post holder will be expected to undertake 0.2 WTE per week as clinical work within the clinical environment.
