Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for candidates to apply for the role of the Discharge Team Administrator within the Imperial Discharge Team at Charing Cross Hospital. The successful post holder will be primarily responsible for providing high-quality administrative support to the Discharge team, including being a central person to direct all incoming calls, using the new system that has been rolled out in the discharge team, sending out daily emails to our external colleagues and sending out daily reports to senior management and scribing for daily meetings. The post holder will also support the Discharge co-ordinators and Service Improvement Manager with other tasks. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual that is keen to learn and takes initiative to get on with their task. The ideal candidate is able to work well in a diverse team and is flexible in taking on various different tasks and working on different sites.
The Discharge Team liaises with several stakeholders including nurses/ health professionals on the ward and social workers along with other professionals.
Due to the nature of the post it is essential that the post holder is highly organised with an ability to prioritise and problem solve in a busy working environment. IT skills and communication is key for this role and it will be expected that the post holder can demonstrate an ability to communicate with staff across all disciplines.
Main duties of the job
- Providing administrative support to the Discharge Team, ensuring that the Early Discharge Notification and Discharge Needs Based Assessment received through the generic email are efficiently actioned
- Being the first point of contact for all telephone calls and resolving queries where possible or directing them if needed
- Ensure that all the boroughs are updated with the relevant information and there is clear communication with them regarding patients being discharged.
- Resolving queries over the telephone, by email and in person on a daily basis, communicating tactfully and professionally.
