Main duties of the job
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate holistic family centred nursing care, actively seeking evidence-based practice which will improve the quality of care and meet the needs of the patient.
Develop general and specialist allergy clinical nursing knowledge and skills including the performing and interpretation of allergy diagnostic testing, oral provocation tests, monoclonal therapies, desensitizations, immunotherapies, respiratory and dermatology care. Under supervision and within professional frameworks develop advanced nursing practice.
Efficient use resources
Ensure nursing documentation is maintained to the Trust and professional standards including electronic records.
Take charge of the clinical needs of a group of defined patients and of the clinical area in the absence of more senior staff, prioritising workload according to changing clinical need, utilising appropriate support as necessary to ensure safe, high-quality care is always maintained.
Delegation of tasks and activities to a range of team members in relation to patient care in line with professional standards.
In collaboration provide a suitable and safe environment for the physical and psychological well-being of staff, patients/clients, and their relatives/carers.
Identify clinical risks ensuring that appropriate action is implemented in accordance with the Trust Risk Management policy.

Job Description
We are currently looking for a Clinical Nurse Specialist Childrens Allergy to join our team on a fixed term contract (12 months) which could be extended, covering maternity and vacancies. Full training will be provided on the specifics of childrens allergies and this experience is not essential.
You must be working at a Band 6 level in paediatrics or general nurse, full training on childrens allergies will be provided to the right candidate.

Job Purpose
Provide safe, high quality, individualised, evidence-based nursing care with the support of and in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. This includes dealing with complex situations, taking appropriate action in an emergency and unforeseen situation.
Develop the specialist clinical skills and knowledge to achieve the competences required to carry out all relevant duties without direct supervision.
