Senior Specialist SLT - ENT Laryngology & Airway Reconstruction

Then look no further! We are looking for a dynamic, motivated and experienced senior speech & language therapist to join our SLT ENT Laryngology and Airway Reconstruction team, in this new role designed to help meet the growing demands of our busy inpatient and outpatient service.
You will work within a team of 3.4wte SLTs designated to ENT Laryngology and Airway Reconstruction based at Charing Cross Hospital, and part of a wider team of over 40 SLTs working across all acute specialities over three hospital sites.
- You will have a specific remit to inpatients and outpatients presenting with swallowing, communication and voice needs arising from benign ENT diagnoses, including those with airway stenosis and tracheostomy.
- You will have access to emerging instrumental evaluation tools in addition to SLT-led FEES, endoscopy for voice and video fluoroscopy.
Main duties of the job
To provide a highly specialist speech & language therapy (SLT) service to adult inpatients and outpatients presenting with impairments of swallowing and communication (primarily voice) related to benign ENT laryngological conditions, including people diagnosed with airways stenosis / requiring tracheostomies.
The post holder will work within the SLT ENT Laryngology and Airway Reconstruction team based at Charing Cross Hospital, home of the National Centre of Airway Reconstruction. He/she will provide highly specialist assessment, diagnosis, management, advice and treatment, including the use of instrumental assessment techniques. The post holder will provide support and second opinions for colleagues and participate fully in multi-disciplinary working, service development and training, within their speciality area and the wider SLT service.
The post holder will receive regular support and supervision from the Clinical Lead SLTs within the SLT ENT Laryngology and Airway reconstruction service, as well as clinical leads and peers across the wider SLT service. They will continue to gain wider clinical experience and expertise through clinical support and be committed to extending their skills within the area of ENT laryngology and airway reconstruction.
