Job summary
This post is part of the Trauma and Orthopaedic Therapy Team that supports inpatients treated at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust on the St Mary's site. The aim of the post is to assist and support the Trauma and Orthopaedic Therapy service in providing high quality therapy management to patients who have undergone varying surgeries from fracture fixation; amputation; general surgical procedures; assisting with in patient therapy sessions. You will deliver a patient centred service encouraging independence and mobility, preparing them for discharge into the community. In providing this service, you will be expected to be professional, efficient, effective, and committed to continuous professional development, contributing every day to making healthcare better. We are looking for someone who is keen to be developed in this role. Training will be available for all the competencies that are required to carry out the role.
The post will attract an effective communicator, be able to work with multi-disciplinary teams and have a flexible approach to team work. It is a predominantly patient facing role.
You will be supported in this role by senior clinicians from all disciplines.
Main duties of the job
- To assist therapy staff in delivering safe, effective treatments to patients within the orthopaedic and surgery services at Imperial college Healthcare NHS staff including ensuring a clean and appropriately equipped environment.
- In providing this service, you will be expected to be professional, efficient, effective, and committed to Continuous Professional Development, contributing every day to making healthcare better. To demonstrate capability in therapy assistant skills by completing Assistant Core Competencies within the first 6 months of employment
