Job summary
We are looking for a self-motivated Senior Estates Project Manager with extensive experience within the NHS and or Healthcare sector (or similar) in the built environment to be part of our Estates Capital Projects team. As a Senior Estate Project Manager, you will be site based full time and report to the Head of Estates Capital Projects and have a strong track record with the delivery of construction projects, be a highly motivated, experienced team player with excellent financial and communication skills. You will be required to work on Capital & Estates Backlog projects on all the Trust sites, with project values from £5k-£10M upwards. You will be working alongside Trust stakeholders to develop schemes, with responsibilities for procurement, control of design teams and be accountable for financial performance, programme and quality delivery and supporting on business case development. We are looking for a highly experienced Estates Capital Project Manager with significant Construction work experience within the NHS and or Healthcare sector.
The Estates Capital Projects Team are responsible for the delivery of the physical environment aspect of the Trust's capital programme whilst achieving the objectives and visions of the organisation.
Main duties of the job
- Working as part of a team you should be comfortable working autonomously and have sound judgement skills. You will have experience of working in a high demanding environment with strong Project management experience with the ability to prioritise your workload accordingly.
- Be able to ensure the day to day management of whole project budgets, contractors and delivery of the project deliverables within the constraints agreed.
- Producing project documentation involving Business case writing, reports and plans, specific project documentation, highlight and checkpoint progress reports, quality assurance reports, and risk/issue management logs related to their schemes.
- Managing the relationship with external suppliers to define and agree business needs. To ensure objectives and system requirements and any interfaces with the operational hospital staff are met so that the scheme delivers the agreed output specification and commissioners/users' requirements.
- The successful candidate will be required to work closely with different stakeholders to ensure the delivery of a successful Estates Project, these will include Estates operations teams, security, fire, health & safety and infection control teams.
- Sound knowledge of cost management and reporting on capital projects, from production of budget estimates to OB & FB cost forms, cash flow forecasts and monitoring and reporting on your project commitments, costs and forecasts.
