North West London Pathology (NWLP) is a partnership between Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, Chelsea & Westminster NHS Trust and The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Trust. The partnership represents a new model for delivering pathology testing in a modern, efficient operation that manages over 30 million tests per year.
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Trust grade Registrar in Metabolic Medicine to join our friendly and dedicated Blood Sciences team.
The Blood Sciences Department provides acute services to six Hospitals in Charing Cross, Hammersmith, Chelsea and Westminster, St Mary's, West Middlesex and Hillingdon. Each site has its own local dedicated laboratory. The post holder is expected to participate in the provision of services at any of the Imperial sites.
The post holder will be expected to liaise effectively with the Clinical Lead and Divisional Management Team as required.
The post is a fixed term post to cover a vacancy in the metabolic Medicine / Chemical Pathology rotation and the post holder will be expected to participate in the rolling rota to cover across the three sites. They will also be expected to fill in rota gaps when other trainees are on leave or at teaching events.
This is a non-banded post with no on-call requirement.
Main duties of the job
The appointees' prime duties, in conjunction with the other SpRs, will be the provision of a comprehensive and high quality Metabolic medicine/chemical pathology service to the Trust, under the supervision of the Consultant staff.
The appointee will participate in the Rolling rota and fill in gaps when other trainees are on leave or are at teaching events.
The candidate will attend regular meetings: Weekly MDT meetings within the subspecialty they are covering as well as weekly training sessions.
