Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team of administrators in the St Marys' Hospital Emergency Department, providing support to patients, clinicians, nurses, and managers.
As an A&E administrator you will be the first point of contact for patients calling and coming into the department both at the front door and for patients arriving by ambulance. You will need to be diligent as you will be responsible for registering all patients correctly. You will answer their queries and help solve any issues they may have encountered. You will work alongside the clinicians, nurses, management team and other administrative staff to provide a safe and efficient service to our patients.
The post also involves creating close working relationships with services outside of the Emergency Department, such as with the London Ambulance Service paramedics, the ICT department, and staff from the Urgent Treatment Centre
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for providing a customer orientated reception service and clerical support to the clinical team in the Emergency Department. This is to include, accurately registering and updating details onto the hospital databases and assisting in any enquiries from internal or external agencies.
