Job summary

The Patient Dining plays a vital role in the delivery of nutrition to patients, staff and visitors.

Main duties of the job

  • The post holder will assist in providing a comprehensive catering service to Patients, Staff and Visitors in line with Hygiene Legislation, Environmental Health requirements and departmental Standard Operational Procedures in all areas of the Catering Department
  • Provide a food service that is safe, and customer focused.

Job responsibilities

  • To assist in the preparation of patient food in a hygienic manner following all instructions given

  • Stock Rotation of food recording any wastage

  • Keeping all areas clean and tidy

  • Cleaning of kitchen/pantry/restaurant equipment, crockery, utensils and structure

  • Assist with stock takes, checking in deliveries and putting away stock

  • Delivering of catering supplies to wards, departments and call orders

  • Filling in of paperwork e.g. temperature records, cleaning rota

  • Assist the manager and supervisor to achieve health and safety requirements

  • Reporting of faulty equipment or near misses

  • Ad-hoc duties as and when required
