Riverside Ward is home to our elective surgery hub, and it is getting bigger! We are expanding our elective surgical capacity and are looking for enthusiastic band 5 nurses with a keen interest in surgical nursing to come work with us. It is fast paced area and is home to several surgical specialties including General Surgery, Urology, Breast, Plastics, and Colorectal. In addition the ward supports a day case interventional radiology pathway and an intensive care step down pathway for our elective patients. Furthermore we are a highly sought after placement for student nurses.
We welcome applications from nurses with some ward experience who are keen to become experts in surgical nursing. Induction for new team members is three weeks which is organised by the Matron prior to your start date. This ensures you have adequate time to become familiar with the ward environment and our patient caseload. Each staff member is also allocated a Band 6 Team Leader to mentor you and support your development.
