Finance Manager-Reporting & Systems

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to substantively recruit a Band 8A Finance Manager to support the Central Business Partnering team, with responsibility for Systems and Reporting.

You should have expert knowledge of financial systems and experience in integrating data from a number of systems to produce reports that provide insight into the financial position of an organisation. You should also have experience in management accounting (including preparing budgets and forecasts) and in using systems to improve business processes.

You will be responsible for the line management of the Financial Analyst (Reporting), and should have experience of managing and developing staff.

This is a challenging role but offers the right candidate the opportunity to thrive and develop within a supportive finance team, as well as contribute to improving the efficiency and offering of the finance function to the organisation.

Main duties of the job

  • To support the running and development of systems within the finance business partnering team including but not limited to Collaborative Planning, Qlikview, StratPro and Business Objects
  • To provide training and support to finance and operational staff on systems used within the business partnering team
  • To provide support to the Senior Finance Manger - reporting on the accurate and timely completion of reporting to the Executive and Trust Board
  • To support the Senior Finance Manger - reporting in the accurate and timely completion of reporting to NHS Improvement and other external bodies as required
  • To be responsible for the accuracy of budgets on the finance system including reviewing the accuracy of divisional and directorate budget setting, review and control of budget virements
  • To provide ad-hoc analysis on the income and expenditure position as required
  • To support the Head of Reporting and Planning on improvement projects within the finance team
