Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Band 6 Dietitian to work as part of a team of nine renal dietitians to provide a Specialist Renal Dietetic service at Hammersmith Hospital.
You will be working closely within the supportive environment of the renal specialist team within the West London Renal and Transplant Service. You will be responsible for being part of a dynamic team delivering a high quality, evidence-based clinical service to both in-patients, out-patients and renal satellite dialysis units; both remotely and face-to-face to groups and individuals. As part of a renal dietetic team of eight members, you will be involved in service development, student training and may also line manage and mentor junior staff members.
We are a large, high profile, friendly department involved in undergraduate and post graduate medical training. We take placement 1, 2 and 3 and are involved in teaching other health professionals such as medical, nursing and therapy colleagues, as well as medical students. The department is forward thinking and our service delivery is very much influenced by the audits and research projects we carry out which is supported by excellent IT facilities and Quality Improvement initiatives. The department also supports robust CPD for all staff members.
Main duties of the job
To provide an effective specialist dietetic service to the Renal Dietetic service at Imperial College Healthcare Trust within the West London Renal and Transplant Service. To work in conjunction with the clinical dietetic lead in the development, delivery and evaluation of the service. This post covers both in-patient, outpatient and haemodialysis satellite work; the individual must demonstrate excellent knowledge or experience of the dietetic management of patients within this specialist area.
