Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced manager to apply for the role of Deputy General Manager at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. This is a full time post within the Specialist Surgery Directorate, based predominantly at Charing Cross Hospital.
This is a great opportunity for a high performing operational manager to develop their leadership skills and drive some really exciting service developments within a complex, fast-paced environment incorporating service transformation and service reconfiguration.
We would welcome applications from candidates with strong operational management skills, with substantial experience of financial and staff management and service development. This role is well suited to those working towards a General Manager post in the future.
Main duties of the job
The Deputy General Manager will provide effective operational management support for the Specialist Surgery directorate, assisting the lead clinicians and senior managers as required and ensuring that the service is responsive, innovative and provided to the highest possible clinical and performance standards. Reporting to the General Manager, the Deputy General Manager will be responsible for:
- Monitoring service delivery against strategic and business plans throughout the year to ensure successful delivery.
- Working with the General Manager to produce accurate, high quality business cases for service developments.
- Financial management.
- Operational management to ensure the smooth functioning of Charing Cross Hospital site
- Working with the service manager, lead nurse, clinical leads and wider teams to achieve sustained operational improvements.
- Deputising for, and acting up on behalf of, the General Manager.
- Ensuring that the directorate services provided are of a consistently high quality and deliver an excellent patient experience
