Job summary
Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust Renal Unit is home to the renal transplant, medicine and dialysis unit across North West London. It is the Regional Renal centre for Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
The Centre brings together a highly skilled multi-professional team thus creating a centre of excellence in the UK.
The unit provides direct care to more than 3,000 patients across nine satellite dialysis units, outpatients (including specialist nephrology clinics, transplant) at Charing Cross, Hammersmith and St Mary's Hospital, peritoneal dialysis at Hammersmith Hospital and pre-dialysis clinics across West London.
There are 80 renal beds at Hammersmith Hospital, which includes a dedicated high dependency unit and three other dedicated renal wards.
As part of this care we run a Prescription Homecare service supporting patients receiving long term chronic treatments in their home.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individuals with good inter-personal skills. The individual will:
- Provide high quality drug purchasing service for a large set of Renal Home Delivery patients.
- Will have great attention to detail and will bring that care and attention when processing homecare prescriptions for patients.
- Have excellent interpersonal skills when speaking to patients, colleagues and suppliers on the phone or in person.
- Invoice and be involved in ordering and management of medications.
- Providing a high quality stock control service to the renal inpatient wards.
- Interacting with patients to improve medication supplies.
- Have the opportunity to develop pharmacy distribution skills and learn more about the day to day operation of a tertiary hospital pharmacy.
- They will undertake a top-up service on site/at a satellite dialysis unit.
