We offer an exciting opportunity for experienced or new graduate nurse at Interventional Radiology in Charing Cross Hospital.

Charing Cross Hospital is one of the major neuro science centers in London and one of the two organisations which offer 24/7 Thrombectomy services. Is highly specialized in both general interventional procedures as well as neurointerventional procedures. The department offers great opportunity in learning from the most basics procedures such as biopsies and drainages, to the most complex treatment of cerebral aneurysm, ischemic stroke, ureteric stenting and embolisations treatment. It also provides the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge in the recovery of post-anesthetic patients and Level 2 care, offering an umbrella of learning and development of opportunities.

Charing Cross interventional radiology department has a world renowned reputation for research, trial of new vibrant devices, as well as chairing the last two International Thrombectomy symposiums.

Main duties of the job

The band 5 staff nurse will play an integral part in supporting the Junior Sisters and the team according to our trust values, and ensuring the delivery of high quality patient care within this innovative environment. With such a wide variety of specialist services there is ample opportunity to gain valuable leadership skills; providing a firm foundation for your career. The successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to make a difference to this service.

The team works in conjunction with radiologists, radiographic staff and anaesthetists providing care for complex patients across all imaging modalities including Angio, CT, Ultrasound, MRI, and Recovery.

Essential

  • Registered General nurse (level 1) Degree in Nursing
  • Willingness to undertake further training applicable to the post

Desirable

  • Radiology nursing course, critical or recovery nursing course Teaching Qualification or equivalent experience
