Job summary
West London Children's Healthcare at St Mary's Hospital is a tertiary referral center which admits children and young people with acute and complex conditions, such as Haematology, Oncology, and Infectious Disease. The Children Services is supported by a 15-bedded Paediatric Intensive Care Unit, Bone Marrow Transplant Cubicles and a Paediatric Accident and Emergency Unit. St Mary's Hospital is commissioned for Major Paediatric Trauma and High Consequence Infectious Disease.
The Children Services at Imperial College is aligned with the paediatric care provision at Chelsea and Westminster and West Middlesex Hospitals and the post holder will be part of a multi-disciplinary team putting the service values of these three hospitals at the center of their practice.
The post holder will be managing a recent refurbished 13-bedded acute paediatric Haematology ward that includes 4 active bone marrow transplant cubicles. You will be supporting a team of specialist nurses in Haematology and Oncology to care for patients with a wide range of non- malignant Haemotology conditions, supporting 35 paediatric bone marrow transplants annually, and provides supportive care for patients with oncological conditions. The service is also supported by a 2-bedded Nurse-Led Apheresis Service and a Paediatric Haematology Day Unit.
We are committed to active research programs which includes gene therapy trials.

To oversee the delivery of high quality, safe and effective care focused on improving outcomes and experiences for patients, families and carers. To provide Children's Haematology nursing clinical expertise and advice to support and facilitate the delivery of high standards of individualised care.
