Job summary
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual with excellent organisational and communication skills. The successful post holder will support the Trust with improving data quality across a number of key priority waiting lists. The successful post holder will be a confident manager and have proven experience of managing or supervising a team. This post will be responsible for managing a large data clean up team supporting the Trust with investigation, diagnosis and clean-up of data quality errors.
You must have exceptional attention to detail and enjoy analytical tasks. You should be able to work collaboratively with individuals at all levels across the Trust, providing guidance and support in relation to data quality and national waiting time performance standards. As such you should also have an understanding of patient pathways and have experience on the Trusts current patient administration system Cerner. You will need to have experience in working with large sets of data and be confident in the use of Microsoft Excel.
Main duties of the job
- The post holder will support the conduct of an extensive range of data quality assignments under the Trust Data Quality Framework and Data Quality Improvement Programme in accordance with data quality principles and practices. To ensure appropriate, accurate and timely recording of data across the four key national targets and relevant DQI's across the Trust.
- Responsible for ensuring accurate data quality by establishing and maintaining robust processes for data clean up validation to ensure that data is accurate, timely and complete within the Trust Patient Administration System (PAS) in accordance with NHS data standards, data definitions, national guidance and local policies.
- To liaise with relevant staff to obtain information required to review and clean up pathways. To communicate back to Divisional Management Teams where management actions are required to resolve pathway issues.
- The post holder will manage a team of Data Quality Administrators to review the accuracy of patient pathways and correct data quality errors within the Trust PAS. Expert knowledge of national waiting time standards and access policy rules will be required to advise the team and ensure data is entered onto the Trust PAS correctly.
- Responsible for line management of the Data Quality Team. To develop Standard Operating Procedures and ensure these are adhered to by staff and data quality standards are consistently met.
