An exciting opportunity has arisen on the Band 6 Occupational Therapy general rotation which currently offers posts across St Mary's hospital which is the major trauma centre for the North West London network, Charing Cross hospital which is a specialist stroke and neuroscience centre and Hammersmith hospital which houses the specialist cardiology centre.

The successful candidate will have a chance to work across a variety of specialities including, ICU, neurosciences, trauma, orthopaedics and surgery, acute specialist medicine (general and elderly), acute medical unit, renal medicine, oncology. All teams are well staffed with band 8 and 7 senior clinicians supporting each specialty team to ensure essential professional development opportunities are available from the moment you join the trust. Flexible working arrangements/ fixed term/ secondment contracts will also be considered.

The post holder will need to have excellent communication and organisational skills and be able to work effectively with both their OT and multi-disciplinary team colleagues.

Main duties of the job

  • Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust operates a rotational scheme for Band 6 Occupational Therapists covering the following clinical specialities: Stroke, Neurosciences, Elderly Medicine, Cardiology, Haem-oncology, Vascular Surgery and Trauma & Orthopaedics, Private Patients, Acute & Specialist Medicine, Oncology and Respiratory Medicine/ITU. The rotations are across Hammersmith Hospital, Charing Cross Hospital and St Mary's Hospital sites. Each rotation is nine month duration within each clinical area.
  • When providing occupational therapy within this Trust you will be expected to be professional, efficient, effective, with a commitment to evidence based practice and continuous personal and professional Development
  • The job holder is required to work at weekends as part of their contracted hours of work (specific rota details are held locally within departments)
  • Staff will do so once they have completed the relevant induction and achieved the required competencies.
