An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated nursing leader to join our 21-bed acute neurology and neurosciences ward at Charing Cross Hospital. 10 North is an acute neurology/neurosurgery ward specialising in the diagnosis, treatment and recovery of acute neurological conditions providing treatments that are not accessible elsewhere in the region. 10 North also recovers post-operative patients from Neurosurgery, primarily spinal cases and cranial cases from 48hours post op.
This Band 7 Ward Manager post requires an enthusiastic, driven and passionate leader who empowers their team to deliver high standards of care. You will demonstrate that you possess and promote the Trust values and incorporates these into your practice. You will work collaboratively across teams and specialities to deliver positive patient outcomes, you will aspire to continuously develop and share your knowledge with your team, and you will be an expert in ward management and neuroscience nursing. Above all, you will lead with kindness, compassion and understanding.
Main duties of the job
- To oversee the delivery of high quality, safe and effective care focused on improving outcomes and experiences for patients, families and carers.
- As a key member of a multi-professional team, ensure that appropriate referrals and discussions with other members of the team are actioned to optimise patient care.
- Act as a clinical expert within sphere of work.
- Manage budgets and resources efficiently and effectively.
- Champion a culture of learning and quality improvement in the clinical area
- Live the Trust values, as well as embed and promote the Pathway to Excellence standards
