Job summary
We are seeking to recruit resident doctors to the post of Senior Clinical Fellow in General Paediatrics and Neonatology with clinical risk management, for a fixed time period of 12 months starting in September 2026.
Main duties of the job
Roles & Responsibilities
? Two days a week of this post is dedicated to clinical risk management. This would involve supporting clinical governance work in the department, including incident investigation and supporting resident doctor colleagues in responding to clinical incidents.
? The remainder of the post (including a full out of hours commitment) is dedicated to the in and out of hours acute cover of the general and neonatal resident doctor rota.
? You would be expected to provide day to day care for children in partnership with the consultants and the multidisciplinary team.
? Prepare and contribute to Paediatric MDT meetings and journal clubs.
? Manage paediatric and neonatal emergencies as part of the paediatric/neonatal resuscitation team.
? Contribute to the postgraduate and undergraduate teaching programme.

West London Children's Healthcare was formed on 1st April 2022 bringing paediatric services at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (ICHT) and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (CWFT) under a single leadership structure accountable to both Trust Boards for all elements of operational, quality, safety and financial performance.
WLCH runs services from Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, Hammersmith Hospital, St Mary's Hospital, and West Middlesex Hospital.
In addition, two child development services operate from the Cheyne Centre and Woodfield Road.

We are an expanding team of consultants with a range of interests to support your clinical and non-clinical development. We would support you to develop your non-clinical leadership skills, appreciation of clinical governance processes and skills in incident investigation and supporting colleagues.
