Job summary

Do you enjoy intrapartum care?

Would you like to join a well established team of midwives?

We are looking for an enthusiastic midwife to deliver high quality care in our busy labour ward and maternity triage.

You will work as an experienced care provider in all aspects of midwifery care working on labour ward and maternity triage.

Main duties of the job

Practice, maintain and teach clinical skills to appropriate staff groups e.g. student midwives and junior colleagues on the labour ward. This includes advanced life support, neonatal resuscitation, and appropriate to the clinical area dealing with complex obstetric cases, suturing, siting of I.V infusions and other procedures required in the care of high-risk women.

  • Midwifery diploma/ degree or degree in related subject/Demonstrable experience
  • Mentor or practice assessor

  • NLS
  • Examination of the newborn

Experience

  • Demonstrable experience in working in all areas of midwifery
  • Perineal suturing, cannulation, IV drug administration, theatre support
  • Experience in mentoring students and in being a sign off mentor
  • Competent in water birth
