Job summary
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced fertility nurse.This post provides an opportunity for a trained fertility nurse to develop skills in the field. The post holder must prioritise the workload effectively and be dedicated to serving the needs of patients undergoing assisted conception services. They must work with other senior professionals supporting them in their daily duties, and to provide effective patient care. They will undertake a range of protocol driven, basic activities in the fertility unit and associated offices.

Clinical

Management and leadership

- Manage a group of patients, in line with level of experience.
- Supervise and Mentor under the direction of the Sister/Charge Nurse, the work of Junior staff.
- Manage the ward/department in the absence of the Band 7 nurses, To co-ordinate ward staffing through monitoring of duty rotas; programming annual and study leave; monitoring staff sickness / absence, to ensure effective use of resources.
- Assist the Senior Sister in the investigation of complaints, incidents and other events that may occur, in a timely and efficient manner.
- Assist the Senior Sister as allocated to ensure that all nursing and support staff undertake annual appraisal and personal development planning (PDP) with intervening reviews.
- Demonstrate effective time management and prioritization of workload
