Healthcare Assistant Band 3

A great opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Healthcare Assistant to join the diverse team in Day Surgery Unit, which is an expanding unit undergoing an exciting renovation. Day Surgery Unit is a busy unit with seven operating theatres, offering day-case surgeries and overnight stays for elective and trauma surgery patients. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with NHS or Healthcare sector experience in a hospital ward/inpatient setting.

As a Band 3 HCA you will be responsible for providing high standards of care. Your role will involve assisting the nursing staff with some clinical duties. Training will be arranged for you to achieve these skills. Being a Band 3 HCA also means you will lead by example and supervise and support junior members of staff to improve and maintain high standards of care.

The successful applicant should be highly motivated with good interpersonal skills and be able to work under pressure and work well within the team. They should have a keen desire to provide and maintain a high standard of care at all times.

Please note this role requires you to be flexible to work days and nights, to meet the needs of the ward roster and the safe staffing of our ward.

Main duties of the job

Provide high quality clinical care to patients, in line with the Trust values and in accordance with professional regulations

Accept delegated responsibility for specific activities/areas from the lead nurse

Work in line with Trust policies, objectives, protocols and local guidelines, whilst also being aware of the importance of their role in supporting members of the team, and always adhering to the Trust values

Work autonomously and with others to always deliver high standards of care to patients.

Communicate in line with Trust values, to patients, carers and staff at all times.

Take every opportunity to continue to develop, practice and expand their own general and specialist nursing skills

Under the supervision of a registered nurse assisting the Ward/Department team in providing the highest possible standard of care for patients and their families/carer.

The post holder will take undertake a range of tasks and duties as delegated by a registered nurse
