To manage on a day to day running of the plaster room efficiently.
To manage effectively and efficiently the patient caseload within the plaster room, informing waiting patients of the reason for delays.
To minimize hazards in the working area and report any identified hazards to the appropriate departments and line manager.
To adhere to all safe systems of work applicable to the work area.
To undertake risk assessments and implement risk reducing measures. Reporting to the appropriate department and line manager any deficiencies in the arrangements for minimising risk.
To contribute to the learning needs of staff within the department.
To support all activity which the plaster room provide

Ensure equipment, stock levels and disposables are maintained with regard to cost effectiveness.
Participate, as directed by the senior plaster technician, in the programme of care and maintenance of all equipment used in the plaster room and keep accurate records of all servicing and maintenance.
Participate in the structured training packages for new staff in all relevant plastering techniques.
To work with clinicians and colleagues to ensure all costs incurred by the hospital for provision of plaster room services are captured on the relevant forms.
To ensure a bleep is carried by plaster room staff at all times while on duty; ensuring a plaster room service is available at all times during normal working hours.
Report all clinical issues and staff concerns to the Matron.
Participate in the recruitment and selection of plaster room staff.
Act as an effective role model; demonstrating professionalism at all times.
In the absence of the senior plaster technician, report all absences, such as sick leave, to the Matron.

Identify problems and actively work towards resolving them, with support from the senior plaster technician, where necessary.
